Nivea Goodbye Cellulite Review
Nivea are a household name in the world of health and beauty and in addition to their ranges of moisturisers and basic skin care, they have also an anti-cellulite range called Goodbye Cellulite. There are two products in the range, a gel cream and a 10 day serum. Nivea are a well trusted and well respected company and their anti-cellulite products promise results within 2 weeks for the cream and 10 days for the serum. Compared with other products on the market the Nivea range is not overly expensive, and it is sold widely through drugstores, department stores and supermarkets. The two products are designed to be used together, but can be used independently if preferred.
How does Nivea Goodbye Cellulite Work?
The main active ingredient in both products is L-Carnitine, a compound which occurs naturally in the body and helps with burning fat. The products are designed to be used once or twice a day, and to apply you just rub the cream into the area you wish to treat. L-Carnitine is proven to be effective in boosting the metabolism and burning off fat when taken orally as a supplement but there is little in the way of evidence that it is equally effective when used in a cream. The other main ingredient is natural lotus extract, which Nivea claims has been shown to work to stop new fat cells forming, but again there is little in the way of evidence to show scientific facts or clinical trials to back up these claims.
Reviews of the products are mixed, with many people saying that they did notice a difference in both the smoothness and condition of their skin, and equal numbers saying that they didn’t notice any difference at all. As there is no evidence presented that the active ingredients do help melt away the cellulite, any improvement may just be down to regular moisturizing and massage on the skin. The cream feels nice and cool going on and the alcohol may have a tightening effect also.
Conclusion
Although Nivea is a household name with a long history, there is really nothing in this cream which makes it effective on cellulite. L-Carnitine’s benefits taken as a supplement seem to have been translated into a cream without any real proof. Having said that, it is not an expensive product, so there is no harm in buying some and seeing if it works for you as you won’t be drastically out of pocket.
